Dimagno's big game bests Milton in 7-4 Burlington win

Kevin Dimagno had two goals and one assist to lead the Burlington Cougars to a 7-4 victory over the Milton Icehawks.

Dimagno found the back of the net 2:34 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Burlington and again while 10:21 into the second to make the score 4-3 Burlington.

Milton was unable to stop Burlington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cougars eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Burlington outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Cougars average 4.6 goals per contest.

Burlington additionally got points from Jordan Peacock, who also registered one goal and one assist, Philip Lagunov, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Nathan Gomes, who also had one goal and one assist. Burlington also had goals scored by Willy Paul and Mike Faliero, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Burlington were James McLaughlin, who had two and David Thomson, Ben Morris, and Dante Felicetti, who each chipped in one.

The Icehawks were led by Anthony Filoso, who finished with two goals and two assists. Filoso scored the first of his two goals at 38 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Milton. Brad Lindsay provided the assist. Filoso's next tally made the score 4-4 with 19:45 left in the third period. Andrew Petrucci picked up the assist. Milton also got points from Petrucci, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. In addition, Milton received assists from Devin Pierce, who had three.

Andrew Lee rejected 24 shots on goal for Burlington. The Cougars incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Milton's Matt Whetham stopped 33 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Icehawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
