St. Michaels holds on for 7-5 win against Lindsay

The Lindsay Muskies tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the St. Michaels Buzzers held on for a 7-5 victory.

St. Michaels made the score 7-4 on a goal by Mark Paolini at 16:32 in the third period, and Lindsay got as close as 7-5 when Nick Isaacson scored 18:14 into the third period.

Sean Kohler had two goals to lead the Buzzers to victory. Kohler scored at 2:12 into the second period to make the score 3-2 St. Michaels and again while 13:09 into the second to make the score 4-3 St. Michaels.

St. Michaels forced the Muskies goalie Sean Green to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. The Buzzers found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, St. Michaels averages 3.6 goals per contest. The Buzzers' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

St. Michaels also got points from Paolini, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Austin Clapham, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Colton Trumbla, who also had one goal and two assists, and Cameron Searles, who also registered one goal and two assists. St. Michaels also got a goal from Thomas Beretta as well. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Cameron Wright, who had three and Brad Cocca, Mitchell Devins-Cann, Noah Jordan, Dalton Barnes, and A.J. Dorazio, who contributed one each.

Lindsay kept St. Michaels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob McGrath made 34 saves on 39 shots. The Muskies bested their season scoring average. Lindsay has scored at the pace of 2.3 goals per game during the current campaign. The Muskies' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Lindsay finished with 19 penalty minutes.

The Muskies were led by Cedric Ralph, who racked up one goal and two assists. Ralph scored 3:04 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Isaacson provided the assist. Lindsay additionally got points from Cameron Harris, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Isaacson, who also had one goal and one assist. Lindsay also had goals scored by Cameron Robinson and Dayton Kent, who each put in one. More assists for Lindsay came via Owen Barnett, Cole Robbins, Braeden Kublick, Kyle Diamond, and Jeff Christensen, who each chipped in one.

The Buzzers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Green rejected 31 shots on goal for Lindsay. The Muskies registered one goal on three power play opportunities. For Lindsay, Hunter Hotrum was ejected from the game.
