Aurora outlasts Newmarket, 3-2

The game between the Aurora Tigers and the Newmarket Hurricanes was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Aurora emerged with a 3-2 win.

The Tigers gained the winning advantage on a goal by Kyle Locke 16:22 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

JD Falconer was all over the ice for Aurora, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Falconer found the back of the net 15:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora and again while 15:05 into the second to make the score 2-1 Aurora.

The Tigers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

In addition, Aurora received assists from Austin Gerhart, who had two and Nolan Dunn and Liam Neuman, who each chipped in one.

Newmarket was led by Mark Rozanov, who tallied one goal and one assist. Rozanov scored 8:26 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Alex Ierullo assisted on the tally. Marco Bozzo also scored for Newmarket. Other players who recorded assists for Newmarket were Christian Dedonato and Christian Cella, who contributed one each.

Joshua Boyko rejected 23 shots on goal for Aurora. The Tigers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Dalton Ewing made 26 saves for the Hurricanes on 29 shots. Newmarket incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors.
