Toronto Jr. Canadiens falls to Burlington in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Burlington Cougars' Kevin Dimagno scored 2:41 into overtime to beat the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens, 2-1 (OT).

Toronto Jr. Canadiens was stymied by Burlington's netminder Austin Washkurak, who stopped 32 shots during the victory. Washkurak managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.56 prior to the game.

The Cougars were sparked by Dimagno, who finished with one goal.

Burlington's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Toronto Jr. Canadiens power plays. The Cougars could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Burlington averages 4.5 goals per game.

Anthony Baxter also scored for Burlington. In addition, Burlington received assists from Zac Herrmann, who had two and Willy Paul and Chris Cobham, who each chipped in one.

The Junior Canadiens were held below their usual level of production. Toronto Jr. Canadiens puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. The Junior Canadiens forced the Cougars goalie Washkurak to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens was led by Anthony Trujillo, who scored the team's only goal. Trujillo scored 9:49 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Nico Gonzalez assisted on the tally.

Burlington incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brendan Bonello made 28 saves for the Junior Canadiens on 30 shots. Toronto Jr. Canadiens incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For the Junior Canadiens, Troy Taylor was ejected from the game.
