Hudgin nets hat trick, leads Stouffville to 6-3 win over LindsayStouffville Arena Sat, Feb 13, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
Nathan Hudgin lifted the Stouffville Spirit to a 6-3 victory with a hat trick against the Lindsay Muskies. Hudgin got on the scoresheet 13:05 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:06 into the second and at 8:11 into the third.Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 20:00 into the second period. Six fighting penalties were dished out along with five game misconducts. Stouffville was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. The Spirit surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. Stouffville's offense rang up 33 shots on Lindsay's net. The Spirit bested their season scoring average. Stouffville averages 3.4 goals per game. The Spirit got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Stouffville also got points from Sam Hu, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Ryan DaSilva, who also racked up two goals and one assist. More assists for Stouffville came via Max Novick, who had two, Christopher Brill-Morgan, who had three, and Chad Burrows and Christian Papineau, who each chipped in one. The Muskies racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and two majors for 50 minutes in penalty time. Lindsay had been averaging 19.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Muskies were helped by Cedric Ralph, who registered one goal. Ralph scored short handed 1:24 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Stouffville. Josh Wainman picked up the assist. Others who scored for Lindsay included James Allen and Dayton Kent, who each put in one. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Cole Robbins, Christian Lea, Cameron Lamport, and Nick Isaacson, who contributed one each. Conor McCollum recorded 21 saves for Stouffville. The Spirit registered three goals on eight power play opportunities. Team's Zachary Roberts and Hu were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Lindsay's Graham Dynes stopped 27 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Muskies registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For Lindsay, Owen Barnett, Cameron Robinson, and Lamport were ejected from the contest.
