Latinovich stymies St. Michaels, Orangeville wins 4-1

Nicholas Latinovich stood on his head and made 30 saves to lead the Orangeville Flyers to a 4-1 victory over the St. Michaels Buzzers.

Orangeville was sparked by Kosta Likourezos, who finished with one goal. Likourezos scored on the power play 2:40 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Orangeville. A high sticking penalty on Finn Evans had put the Flyers on the power play. John DiLorenzo picked up the assist.

Orangeville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow St. Michaels to score on any of its four power plays. The Flyers kept the Buzzers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mark Manolescu made 37 saves on 41 shots. The defensemen of Orangeville were also effective in St. Michaels' zone, and came away with two goals.

Orangeville also had goals scored by Zack Lyons, Derek Topatigh, and Ryan Barbosa, who scored one goal each. More assists for Orangeville came via James Ranson, Lucas Smilsky, Ethan Wiseman, and Jack Jeffers, who contributed one each.

The Buzzers' offense operated below their season average. St. Michaels puts an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. The Buzzers forced the Flyers goalie Latinovich to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

St. Michaels also got a goal from Michael Andlauer as well. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Brad Cocca and Lucas Breault, who each chipped in one.

Orangeville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Flyers, Jarret Woon Sam was ejected from the game. St. Michaels incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
