Lindsay holds on for 4-3 win against Pickering

The Pickering Panthers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Lindsay Muskies held on for a 4-3 victory.

Lindsay made the score 4-2 on a goal by Cedric Ralph at 13:26 in the second period, and Pickering got as close as 4-3 when Davis Kuksis scored 12:47 into the third period.

James Allen had two goals to lead the Muskies to victory. Allen's tallies came at 44 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lindsay and 1:20 into the second to make the score 2-1 Lindsay.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 3:09 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Lindsay forced the Panthers goalie Mathew Woroniuk to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Lindsay additionally got points from Ralph, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Nick Isaacson also scored for Lindsay. More assists for Lindsay came via Owen Barnett, Jeff Christensen, and Brock Traill, who each chipped in one.

Pickering excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Panthers were often in penalty trouble, as it ended with five minors and two majors for 20 minutes in penalty time.

Pickering was helped by Mitchell Waldron, who finished with one goal. Waldron scored 10:17 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Lindsay. Tiger McDonald picked up the assist. Pickering also got a goal from Tomas Azzano as well. In addition, Pickering received assists from Doug Carter, who had two and Robert Clark and Kevin Ounjian, who contributed one each.

Sean Green rejected 25 shots on goal for the Muskies. Lindsay ended with 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors. Team's Cameron Robinson and Zach Treen were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Woroniuk recorded 30 saves for the Panthers. Pickering registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. For the Panthers, Mackenzie Heber and Austin Veleke were ejected from the contest.
