Toronto Jr. Canadiens beats Toronto Patriots 4-3 after comeback scare

The Toronto Patriots Patriots tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens held on for a 4-3 victory.

A goal by Carmine Alberga put Toronto Jr. Canadiens up 4-1 in the second period, but Toronto Patriots pulled to within one on Jake Harris's tally 14:31 into the third period.

The Junior Canadiens forced the Patriots' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 40 shots and forcing 36 saves. Sean OReilly made 16 stops and Jacob Standen made 20.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens was led by Nicholas Ursitti, who finished with two goals. Ursitti scored the first of his two goals at 4:53 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Michael Siddall provided the assist. Ursitti's next tally made the score 3-1 Toronto Jr. Canadiens with 15:19 left in the second period. Luca Farrace picked up the assist. Matthew Ferrari also scored for Toronto Jr. Canadiens. More assists for Toronto Jr. Canadiens came via Nico Gonzalez, who had two and Andrew Mullen, Jake Joffe, and Nicholas Jarzabek, who contributed one each.

Toronto Patriots stifled the Junior Canadiens' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Toronto Patriots also got a goal from Lee Lapid as well. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Jeremy Pullara, who had one and Louis DiMatteo and Mario Ferraro, who contributed two each.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens' Brendan Bonello stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Junior Canadiens incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Patriots incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
