Kingston holds on for 5-3 win against Stouffville

The Stouffville Spirit tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Kingston Voyageurs held on for a 5-3 victory.

Kingston made the score 5-2 on a goal by Brandon Nadeau at 19:02 in the third period, and Stouffville got as close as 5-3 when Kyle Thomas scored 19:33 into the third period.

The Voyageurs' penalty kill excelled, as Kingston gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Voyageurs were helped by Connor Cobbold, who registered one goal. Cobbold scored 15:59 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Kingston. Jacob Hanlon assisted on the tally. Kingston additionally got points from Josh Hardiman, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Danny Bosio, who also had one goal and one assist. Kingston also got a goal from Zachary Emelifeonwu as well. In addition, Kingston received assists from Colin Tonge, who had two and Anthony Rinaldi, Matthew Lourenco, Cole Beckstead, and Jack Zielinski, who contributed one each.

The Spirit forced Kingston goalie Zach Springer to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Stouffville also had goals scored by Spencer Roberts and Alex Williamson, who each put in one. More assists for Stouffville came via Zachary Roberts, Sam Hu, Josh Argier, Jonathan Yaremko, Nathan Hudgin, and Ryan DaSilva, who each chipped in one.

Zach Springer made 31 saves for the Voyageurs on 34 shots. Kingston totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Voyageurs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tommy Abrams was ejected from the game. Stouffville's Aaron Taylor stopped 24 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Spirit ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. For Stouffville, Stefan Palatsidis was ejected from the game.
