Oakville survives penalties, beats Milton, 6-3Oakville Arena 1 Sat, Jan 30, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
The Oakville Blades' penalty kill was superb, as Oakville survived multiple penalties to beat the Milton Icehawks, 6-3. The Blades were sparked by Eric Holland, who had one goal. Holland scored 12:10 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Oakville. Ryan Foss picked up the assist. Oakville stifled Milton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Icehawks were unable to stop the Blades from sending pucks towards the net, and Oakville eventually piled up 52 shots on goal. The Blades could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 50 minutes in penalties during the game. Oakville additionally got points from Patrick Kudla, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Tyler Rollo, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Bryce Misley, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Ryan Garvey, who also had one goal and one assist. Drew Worrad also scored for Oakville. In addition, Oakville received assists from Josh Kosack, who had two and Evan Brown, Paul Butler, and Christian Rajic, who contributed one each. Milton forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. The Icehawks surpassed its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game. Milton was helped by Sean Robertson, who racked up one goal. Robertson scored 17:26 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Milton. Brad Lindsay provided the assist. Milton also got points from Ryan Ngan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Milton also got a goal from Brandon Sabatini as well. Other players who recorded assists for Milton were Anthony Filoso, who had one and Jeff Lindsay, who had two. Michael Botiz made 27 saves for Oakville on 30 shots. The Blades registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. Adam Siek rejected 46 shots on goal for the Icehawks. Milton registered zero goals on eight power play opportunities. For the Icehawks, Tyler Longo was ejected from the game.
