The Buffalo Jr. Sabres opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 7-1 win over the Milton Icehawks.

Milton was stymied by Buffalo's netminder Tucker Weppner, who stopped 30 shots during the victory. Weppner certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.73 entering the contest.

The Jr. Sabres' penalty kill excelled, as Buffalo gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The Jr. Sabres' offense rang up 55 shots on the Icehawks' net. Buffalo bested its season scoring average. The Jr. Sabres have scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign. Buffalo could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Jr. Sabres were helped by Aaron Reinig, who racked up one goal. Reinig scored on the power play 15:14 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Buffalo. Buffalo had taken the advantage when Milton's Anthony Coletta got sent off for roughing. Zach Evancho assisted on the tally. Buffalo additionally got points from Tim Nicksic, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Christopher Berger, who also registered one goal and one assist, Nicholas Alfieri, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Nicholas Bondra, who also had one goal and one assist, and Dylan Seitz, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Buffalo also got a goal from Ryan Cox as well. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Griffin Lunn, who had two and Evan Bennett, Bryce Ferrell, and Ryan Wheeler, who contributed one each.

The Icehawks forced the Jr. Sabres goalie Weppner to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Milton could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 32 minutes in penalties during the game.

Buffalo registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. Coletta rejected 48 shots on goal for the Icehawks.
