North York rolls over Toronto Jr. Canadiens, 4-1

The North York Rangers had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens.

North York's Gianluca Baggetta was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 31 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Baggetta will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.88.

The Rangers were paced by Keegan Blasby, who registered one goal. Blasby scored on the power play 7:15 into the second period to make the score 2-0 North York. North York earned a power play opportunity when Andrew Mullen was put in the box for high sticking. Nick Campoli picked up the assist.

The Rangers stifled Toronto Jr. Canadiens' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Junior Canadiens were unable to stop North York from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rangers eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

North York also got a goal from Michael Morgan as well. In addition, North York received assists from Chris Sekelyk, who had two and Ted Hunt, Kyle Clarke, and Grayden Gottschalk, who contributed one each.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens was held below its usual level of production. The Junior Canadiens put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Toronto Jr. Canadiens' offense rang up 32 shots on North York's net. The Junior Canadiens could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens was led by Nicholas Ursitti, who scored the team's only goal. Ursitti scored 4:22 into the third period to make the score 3-1 North York.

The Rangers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Daniel Lopapa recorded 32 saves for the Junior Canadiens. Toronto Jr. Canadiens registered zero goals on five power play opportunities.
