Trenton downs Oakville, 5-2

Mitch Emerson tallied one point to lead the Trenton Golden Hawks to a 5-2 victory over the Oakville Blades.

Oakville was unable to stop Trenton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Golden Hawks eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Trenton had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just one goal on nine chances.

Others who scored for Trenton included Kevin Lavoie, Jordan DaSilva, Danny Hanlon, and Ryan Smith, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Liam Morgan, who had two, Quinn Lenihan, who had three, and Brandon Marinelli, Jordan Chard, Keaton Ratcliffe, and Hunter Fargey, who contributed one each.

The Blades' offense operated below their season average. Oakville averages 4.2 goals per game.

The Blades were helped by Ian Blacker, who registered one goal. Blacker scored 13:45 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Bryce Misley assisted on the tally. Patrick Kudla also scored for Oakville. In addition, Oakville received assists from Ryan Foss and Christian Rajic, who each chipped in one.

Daniel Urbani recorded 18 saves for the Golden Hawks. Trenton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Oakville's Brendan McGlynn stopped 30 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Blades incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
