Georgetown takes care of Toronto Patriots early, wins 6-0

The Toronto Patriots Patriots fell behind early, and the Georgetown Raiders kept piling on the points on the way to a 6-0 victory.

Michael Boushy was all over the ice for Georgetown, as he registered two goals in the win. Boushy found the back of the net 4:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown and again while 13:18 into the first to make the score 5-0 Georgetown.

The Raiders' penalty kill excelled, as Georgetown gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Raiders forced Toronto Patriots' goalies to work in net, firing 39 shots and forcing 33 saves. Jacob Standen made 10 stops and Sean OReilly made 23. Georgetown stifled the Patriots' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Raiders featured an improved defense during the game. Georgetown averages 2.4 goals allowed per game. The Raiders bested their season scoring average. This season, Georgetown averages 3.8 goals per contest.

Georgetown also got points from Jack Jacome, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Josh Dickinson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Matthew Cairns, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Ashur Elliot also scored for Georgetown. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Ryan Takamatsu, who had two and Arran MacDonald, Zack Dybowski, Austin Cho, Brendan Jacome, and Kyle Allan, who contributed one each.

Toronto Patriots did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Patriots average 3.2 goals per game. Toronto Patriots' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Patriots finished with 46 penalty minutes.

Andrew Masters recorded 15 saves for the Raiders. Georgetown incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
