Orangeville boosted by Latinovich's play in net, beats Kingston 3-1Alder St. Recreation Centre Sun, Jan 10, 2016 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by Nicholas Latinovich helped the Orangeville Flyers defeat the Kingston Voyageurs, 3-1. Orangeville was paced by Zack Vukosa, who racked up one goal and one assist. Vukosa scored 3:47 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Orangeville. John DiLorenzo assisted on the tally. The Flyers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Kingston to score on any of its three power plays. Orangeville additionally got points from James Ranson, who also had one goal and one assist. Lucas Smilsky also scored for Orangeville. In addition, Orangeville received assists from Kosta Likourezos, Jarret Woon Sam, and Derek Topatigh, who contributed one each. The Voyageurs were held below their usual level of production. Kingston averages 3.9 goals per game. Orangeville was unable to stop the Voyageurs from sending pucks towards the net, and Kingston eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. The Voyageurs' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Kingston finished with 30 penalty minutes. The Voyageurs were led by Anthony Rinaldi, who scored the team's only goal. Rinaldi scored 2:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston. Ian Harris picked up the assist. Nicholas Latinovich made 39 saves for the Flyers on 40 shots. Orangeville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Kingston's David Richer stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. |
