Orangeville downs Cobourg in overtime, 5-4 (OT)Alder St. Recreation Centre Sat, Dec 12, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
John DiLorenzo gave the Orangeville Flyers a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Cobourg Cougars when he scored 30 seconds into the extra period. Orangeville was led by DiLorenzo, who had one goal. In a losing effort, Cobourg was led by Matt Goeree, who registered two goals. Goeree scored the first of his two goals at 1:34 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Rory Milne assisted on the tally. Goeree's next tally made the score 3-2 Cobourg with 4:08 left in the second period. Orangeville also got points from James Ranson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Orangeville also had goals scored by Colin Rigney, Zack Lyons, and Travis Brown, who scored one goal each. More assists for Orangeville came via Lucas Smilsky, who had three and Daniel DeRose, James McLaughlin, Jarret Woon Sam, Matthew Barnes, and Ryan Barbosa, who each chipped in one. The Cougars forced the Flyers goalie Jacob Ingham to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. Others who scored for Cobourg included Liam Grande and Matt Carroll, who each put in one. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Brennan Roy, who had two and Tyler Wicks, Ryan Casselman, and Theo Lewis, who contributed one each. Ingham rejected 45 shots on goal for Orangeville. The Flyers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tyler Lewis made 25 saves for Cobourg on 30 shots. The Cougars incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
