Trenton survives Lindsay comeback, wins 4-3

The Lindsay Muskies tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Trenton Golden Hawks held on for a 4-3 victory.

Trenton made the score 4-2 on a goal by Mitch Emerson at 5:07 in the third period, and Lindsay got as close as 4-3 when Cole Robbins scored 5:51 into the third period.

Emerson had a great game for the Golden Hawks, netting two goals.

Others who scored for Trenton included Kevin Lavoie and Keaton Ratcliffe, who each put in one. In addition, Trenton received assists from Danny Hanlon, who had two and Liam Morgan, Ben Scheel, Adam Clements, Jordan DaSilva, and Curtis Harvey, who contributed one each.

The Muskies excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Lindsay was helped by Brock Traill, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Traill scored 10 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-2. Nick Isaacson provided the assist. Lindsay additionally got points from Cedric Ralph, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Cameron Robinson and Stuart Fierheller, who each chipped in one.

Trenton's Jackson McIntosh stopped 15 shots out of the 18 that he faced. The Golden Hawks ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. For Trenton, Ryan Smith was ejected from the game. Sean Green rejected 19 shots on goal for the Muskies. Lindsay totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. The Muskies ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Zach Treen was ejected from the game.
