Cobourg completes comeback, beats Georgetown, 5-4

Undaunted by a four-goal deficit, the Cobourg Cougars battled back to claim a 5-4 victory over the Georgetown Raiders.

Cobourg never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Cougars trailed 4-0 after a goal by Georgetown's Bailey Molella at 13:49 in the second period. Cobourg tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Brennan Roy at 12:30 in the third period. The Cougars scored the game winner at 13:08 in the third period on a goal by Roy.

Brenden Locke had one goal and two assists to lead Cobourg. Locke scored on the power play 4:03 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Georgetown. The Cougars had gained a power play chance when Wyatt Hicken was whistled for high sticking. Rory Milne assisted on the tally.

Cobourg additionally got points from Liam Grande, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Roy, who also had one goal and one assist. Cobourg also had goals scored by Matt Goeree and Mac Lowry, who scored one goal each. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Patrick MacDonald, who had one and Ryan Casselman, who had two.

Tyler Lewis rejected 24 shots on goal for Cobourg. The Cougars incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Andrew Masters made 25 saves for the Raiders on 30 shots. Georgetown incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
