Bruce's hat trick boosts Markham over Milton, 11-4

Tyson Bruce netted a hat trick to lead the Markham Royals over the Milton Icehawks, 11-4.

Bruce's first goal came 6:25 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:01 into the third and at 11:11 into the third.

Markham forced Milton goalie Anthony Coletta to work between the pipes, taking 68 shots. The Royals outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Markham averages 3.5 goals per contest.

Markham also got points from Matthew Dunlop, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Sean Perichak, who also had one goal and three assists, Rylee St. Onge, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Marco Azzano, who also registered one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Markham included Liam ODette and Aaron Spivak, who each put in two. In addition, Markham received assists from Cooper Hyman, who had three, Brendan Valko, Jason OConnor, Jeff Joynt, and Hudson Michaelis, who each chipped in one, and Lucas Condotta, Trevor Abbot, and Nick Thomakos, who contributed two each.

The Icehawks were helped by Sean Robertson, who finished with one goal and one assist. Robertson scored on the power play 9:56 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Milton had gotten the advantage when the Royals' Valko was sent off for hooking. Anthony Baxter picked up the assist. Milton additionally got points from Andrew Petrucci, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Baxter, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Milton also got a goal from Devin Pierce as well. Other players who recorded assists for Milton were Joseph Teofilo, Troy Taylor, and Michael Vitro, who each chipped in one.

Markham's Eric Pitcher stopped 18 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Royals incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Anthony Coletta made 57 saves for the Icehawks on 68 shots. Milton incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
