Orangeville downs Mississauga, 5-2

Matthew Barnes racked up one point to lead the Orangeville Flyers to a 5-2 victory over the Mississauga Chargers.

Orangeville managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Flyers ended up below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game. Mississauga was unable to stop Orangeville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Flyers eventually piled up 52 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Orangeville additionally got points from Ethan Wiseman, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Orangeville also got a goal from Kosta Likourezos as well. Other players who recorded assists for Orangeville were Zack Vukosa, Brett Bannister, and Josh DeFarias, who each chipped in one and Lucas Smilsky and Ryan Barbosa, who contributed two each.

The Chargers were led by Stefano Alonzi, who registered one goal and one assist. Alonzi scored 6:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississauga. Kevin Bray provided the assist. Mackenzie OMahony also scored for Mississauga. In addition, Mississauga received assists from Aidan Parker, who had one.

Nicholas Latinovich made 17 saves for Orangeville on 19 shots. The Flyers registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Tyler Richardson recorded 47 saves for Mississauga. The Chargers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
