Toronto Patriots downs Mississauga in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Toronto Patriots Patriots' Louis DiMatteo scored 1:04 into overtime to beat the Mississauga Chargers, 5-4 (OT).

Connor Beck was all over the ice for Toronto Patriots, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. Beck scored on the power play 11:31 into the third period to make the score 4-4. The Patriots earned a power play opportunity when Jake Harrison was put in the box for tripping. Michael Siddall provided the assist.

Toronto Patriots put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Mississauga to score on any of its three power plays. The Patriots kept the Chargers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Cipollone made 39 saves on 44 shots. Toronto Patriots found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Patriots average 2.7 goals per game. Toronto Patriots got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Toronto Patriots additionally got points from DiMatteo, who also had one goal and one assist, Jake Harris, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Siddall, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Toronto Patriots also got a goal from Mario Ferraro as well. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Daniel Barnes, who had one.

Mississauga's offense rang up 42 shots on the Patriots' net. The Chargers found themselves short handed often, totaling 36 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

Mississauga was helped by Alexandros Acosta, who racked up one goal. Acosta scored 4:06 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Harrison picked up the assist. Mississauga also had goals scored by Daniel Pereira, Scott Docherty, and Steve Mariani, who each put in one. More assists for Mississauga came via Mike Choma, Ryan Magee, Mackenzie OMahony, Michael Dischiavi, Shane Beaulieu, Thomas Lattavo, and Brandon Yeamans, who contributed one each.

Sean OReilly made 38 saves for Toronto Patriots on 42 shots. The Patriots incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
