Nathan Gomes finished with two points to lead the Burlington Cougars to a 5-2 victory over the North York Rangers. Burlington's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four North York power plays. The Cougars could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. Burlington additionally got points from Ben Morris, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Burlington included Mike Faliero, Greg Allen, and Jack Jeffers, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Burlington were Willy Paul, Zac Herrmann, Devin Pierce, Austin Washkurak, and Daniel Volpe, who each chipped in one. North York was helped by Grayden Gottschalk, who had one goal. Gottschalk scored 7:17 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jeremy Szabo picked up the assist. North York also got a goal from Ted Hunt as well. In addition, North York received assists from Ryan Takamatsu and Nick Campoli, who contributed one each. Burlington's Washkurak stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Cougars registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Gianluca Baggetta rejected 20 shots on goal for the Rangers. North York incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. |
