Jeffers' big game bests Stouffville in 5-2 Burlington win

The Burlington Cougars' Jack Jeffers had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-2 win over the Stouffville Spirit.

Jeffers found the back of the net 5:29 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Burlington and again while 15:31 into the third to make the score 4-2 Burlington.

Burlington additionally got points from Jordan Peacock, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Burlington included Zac Herrmann and Daniel Volpe, who scored one goal each. In addition, Burlington received assists from Mike Faliero, David Thomson, Devin Pierce, Ben Morris, Greg Allen, Nathan Gomes, and Matt Holmes, who each chipped in one.

Stouffville found itself short handed often, totaling 36 penalty minutes and allowing six power plays.

The Spirit were helped by Nathan Hudgin, who tallied one goal. Hudgin scored 27 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stouffville. Christopher Brill-Morgan picked up the assist. Stouffville also got a goal from Chad Burrows as well. More assists for Stouffville came via Sam Hu, Ryan DaSilva, and Connor Evans, who contributed one each.

Burlington's Andrew Lee stopped 19 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Cougars incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Conor McCollum made 24 saves for Stouffville on 29 shots. The Spirit registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
