Trenton downs Markham in overtime, 1-0 (OT)

The Trenton Golden Hawks pulled out a 1-0 (OT) overtime victory over the Markham Royals on a clutch goal by Danny Hanlon.

Daniel Urbani spearheaded the defensive effort for Trenton, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 26 saves for the shutout. Urbani managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.63 prior to the game.

Hanlon's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 39 seconds in the fifth period. Hunter Fargey picked up the assist.

The Golden Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Markham power plays. Trenton was held below its usual level of production. The Golden Hawks put an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. Markham was unable to stop Trenton from sending pucks towards the net, and the Golden Hawks eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

More assists for Trenton came via Blayne Oliver, who had one.

The Royals could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Markham averages 3.5 goals per game.

Trenton incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Nathan Colitto made 31 saves for the Royals on 32 shots. Markham incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
