North York survives Georgetown comeback, wins 5-3

The Georgetown Raiders almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the North York Rangers managed to pull out a 5-3 win in the end.

North York led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Rangers' Kyle Clarke scored at 16:44 in the second period to put North York up 4-1.

Clarke had a great game for the Rangers, netting two goals.

North York forced Georgetown goalie Andrew Masters to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Others who scored for North York included Joshua Dame, Grayden Gottschalk, and Walker Hincenbergs, who each put in one. In addition, North York received assists from Ryan Takamatsu and Jake Harris, who contributed one each and Louis Kereakou and Nick Zanette, who each chipped in two.

The Raiders' offense rang up 32 shots on the Rangers' net. Georgetown gave up more goals than its normal season average. The Raiders are averaging 2.5 goals against for the season.

Georgetown was helped by Brendan Jacome, who had one goal. Jacome scored 4:49 into the third period to make the score 4-2 North York. Jordan Crocker picked up the assist. Georgetown also had goals scored by Matt Mercer and Jack Jacome, who scored one goal each. More assists for Georgetown came via Arran MacDonald, Ashur Elliot, Josh Dickinson, Matthew Cairns, and Anthony Mota, who contributed one each.

Gianluca Baggetta recorded 29 saves for North York. The Rangers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Andrew Masters made 29 saves for the Raiders on 33 shots. Georgetown incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
