Georgetown boosted by Masters' play in net, beats Milton 4-1

The Georgetown Raiders relied on the scoring touch of Jack Jacome, who netted two goals, to beat the Milton Icehawks, 4-1.

Jacome found the back of the net 3:51 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown and again while 19:09 into the second to make the score 4-0 Georgetown.

Milton's power play was ineffective against Georgetown's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Raiders stifled the Icehawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Georgetown kept Milton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Marcus Semiao made 49 saves on 53 shots. The Raiders were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 60 penalty minutes.

Georgetown also had goals scored by Daniel Hardie and Liam Winslow, who each put in one. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Andrew Court, who had two and Zack Dybowski, Ashur Elliot, Matthew Thom, Josh Dickinson, and Anthony Mota, who contributed one each.

The Icehawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Milton forced Georgetown goalie Andrew Masters to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Icehawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 48 minutes in penalties during the game.

Milton was led by Chris Cobham, who scored the team's only goal. Cobham scored 28 seconds into the third period to make the score 4-1 Georgetown. Dawson Shackelton picked up the assist.

The Raiders' Masters stopped 31 shots out of the 32 that he faced. For the Icehawks, Sean Robertson was ejected from the game.
