The Orangeville Flyers and the Markham Royals skate to 3-3 (OT) tieHarborCenter Thu, Sep 24, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Even though Markham's Tyson Bruce netted two goals and Nick Thomakos contributed one point, the Royals was held to a tie by Orangeville,. The Flyers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Orangeville kept Markham's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nathan Colitto made 37 saves on 40 shots. The Flyers were helped by Travis Brown, who grabbed one goal. Brown scored 7:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Orangeville. Jarret Woon Sam picked up the assist. Orangeville also had goals scored by Connor Stack and Ethan Wiseman, who scored one goal each. In addition, Orangeville received assists from Ryan DaSilva, Daniel DiCristofaro, James McLaughlin, and Lucas Smilsky, who each chipped in one. The Royals' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Orangeville power plays. Orangeville was unable to stop Markham from sending pucks towards the net, and the Royals eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. More assists for Markham came via Brendan Valko, Matthew Dunlop, Khadyn Butterfly, and Aaron Spivak, who contributed one each. Nicholas Latinovich made 28 saves for the Flyers on 31 shots. Orangeville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Markham incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
