Tim Nicksic gave the Buffalo Jr. Sabres a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Mississauga Chargers when he scored 3:59 into the extra period.

Buffalo came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Jr. Sabres fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Mississauga's Thomas Lattavo at 3:32 in the third period. Buffalo knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by David Baskerville at 15:20 in the third period.

Nicksic had a great game for the Jr. Sabres, netting two goals.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 5:34 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Buffalo's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 10 minors and two majors for 50 minutes in penalty time. The Jr. Sabres surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game. Buffalo forced the Chargers goalie Andrew Cipollone to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots. Team could not crack Mississauga's penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 11 opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Buffalo also got a goal from Andrew Pizzo as well. More assists for Buffalo came via Christian Zimmerman, who had two and Evan Bennett, Christian DiFelice, and Brenden Dunning, who contributed one each.

The Chargers racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and one major for 55 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 30.0 minutes per game Mississauga had been spending in the box. The Jr. Sabres were unable to stop the Chargers from sending pucks towards the net, and Mississauga eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Mississauga also had goals scored by Stefano Alonzi and Zack Ribau, who each put in one. In addition, Mississauga received assists from Daniel Pereira, Scott Docherty, Alexandros Acosta, and Daniel DeSousa, who each chipped in one.

Buffalo's Brian Kowalski stopped 39 shots out of the 42 that he faced. For the Jr. Sabres, Christopher Berger, Dylan Seitz, and Michael Benaquist Jr. were ejected from the contest. Cipollone rejected 46 shots on goal for the Chargers. Mississauga registered one goal on nine power play opportunities. The Chargers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kyler Matthews was ejected from the game.
