Orangeville rolls over Toronto Patriots, 5-1Alder St. Recreation Centre Sat, Sep 19, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Orangeville Flyers had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Toronto Patriots Patriots. Lucas Smilsky was all over the ice for Orangeville, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Smilsky scored the first of his two goals at 12:09 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Orangeville. Connor Stack provided the assist. Smilsky's next tally made the score 5-1 Orangeville with 1:35 left in the third period. The Flyers had gotten the advantage when Toronto Patriots' Nicholas Ursitti was sent off for butt-ending. Derek Topatigh assisted on the tally. Orangeville forced Patriots' netminders to work in net, getting 46 shots and forcing 41 saves. Jacob Standen made 15 stops and Sean OReilly made 26. The Flyers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Patriots to score on any of their four power plays. Orangeville also got points from James McLaughlin, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Orangeville included James Ranson and Kosta Likourezos, who each put in one. In addition, Orangeville received assists from Colin Rigney, Zack Lyons, and Ethan Wiseman, who contributed one each. Toronto Patriots found itself short handed often, totaling 22 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays. More assists for Toronto Patriots came via Connor Beck, who had one. Nicholas Latinovich recorded 16 saves for Orangeville. The Flyers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For the Patriots, Mario Ferraro was ejected from the game.
