Kingston beats Wellington 3-2 after comeback scare

The Wellington Dukes tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Kingston Voyageurs held on for a 3-2 victory.

Kingston made the score 3-1 on a goal by Jacob Hanlon at 6:25 in the third period, and Wellington got as close as 3-2 when Tyler Burnie scored 13:41 into the third period.

The Voyageurs were sparked by Hanlon, who registered one goal.

Kingston stifled the Dukes' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Wellington was unable to stop the Voyageurs from sending pucks towards the net, and Kingston eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

Kingston also got points from Anthony Rinaldi, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Kingston also got a goal from Josh Hardiman as well. More assists for Kingston came via Matthew Lourenco, who had one and Zachary Emelifeonwu, who had three.

Luc Brown also scored for Wellington. Other players who recorded assists for Wellington were Chase St Aubin, who had two and Jake Falcao and Griffin McCarty, who contributed one each.

David Poirier made 24 saves for the Voyageurs on 26 shots. Kingston incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Olivier Lafreniere rejected 29 shots on goal for the Dukes. Wellington incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
