Orangeville survives Milton comeback, wins 5-3

The Orangeville Flyers, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by the Milton Icehawks and clinched a 5-3 victory.

Orangeville led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Flyers' Zack Vukosa scored at 6:09 in the second period to put Orangeville up 4-1.

Ethan Wiseman had two goals to lead the Flyers to victory. Wiseman found the back of the net 1:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Orangeville and again while 5:08 into the second to make the score 3-1 Orangeville.

Milton's power play was ineffective against Orangeville's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Flyers kept the Icehawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Marcus Semiao made 42 saves on 47 shots. Orangeville was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to one goal off of 10 man advantages.

Orangeville also got points from Colin Rigney, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Orangeville also got a goal from James McLaughlin as well. In addition, Orangeville received assists from Kosta Likourezos, who had two and Ryan DaSilva, Daniel DiCristofaro, Lucas Smilsky, and Derek Topatigh, who contributed one each.

Milton forced the Flyers goalie Nicholas Latinovich to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The Icehawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 36 minutes in penalties during the game.

Milton was helped by Sean Robertson, who registered one goal. Robertson scored short handed 17:44 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Orangeville. The Icehawks found themselves down a man on Chris Martin's spearing. Josh Chiarot picked up the assist. Milton also had goals scored by Brett Markham and Joseph Teofilo, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Milton were Philip Lagunov and Chris Cobham, who each chipped in one.

Nicholas Latinovich made 28 saves for Orangeville on 31 shots. The Flyers incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
