Deep Cove Jets pulled out an 11-10 (OT) overtime victory over Lexington Wheels on a clutch goal by Scott Williamson.

The win gave Deep Cove Jets a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

The teams traded the lead four times and neither team could skate away and hide. Lexington Wheels took its last lead at 15:56 in the second on a goal by Max Grassi to make the score 10-9 Lexington Wheels. Deep Cove Jets took over the lead for good with a goal by Williamson 3:20 into the third to make the score 11-10.

Williamson and Conor Enright provided the spark for Deep Cove Jets, combining for three goals and six assists. Williamson racked up two goals and two assists and Enright also notched one goal and four assists.

Deep Cove Jets forced Lexington Wheels goalie Jamie Pinton to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. Penalties took their toll on Deep Cove Jets, as its penalty kill unit let in three power play goals. Deep Cove Jets' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in five goals.

Deep Cove Jets also got points from Ryan Heathfield, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Cam Huston, who also had two goals and two assists, Enright, who also finished with one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, and Tyler Harriott, who also registered one goal and two assists. Deep Cove Jets also had goals scored by Zac Osinchuk and Ryan Kraushaar, who scored two goals each. Other players who recorded assists for Deep Cove Jets were Stephen Casey, who had one and Kirby Sharp and Aaron Huston, who each chipped in two.

Deep Cove Jets was unable to stop Lexington Wheels from sending pucks towards the net, and Lexington Wheels eventually piled up 46 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with four goals.

Lexington Wheels was helped by Adam Christensen, who tallied two goals and three assists. Christensen scored the first of his two goals at 17:32 into the first period to make the score 6-4 Deep Cove Jets. Joe Hewlett picked up the assist. Christensen's next tally made the score 7-7 with 12:16 left in the second period. Grassi assisted on the tally. Lexington Wheels additionally got points from Oliver Gerber, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Hewlett, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, Grassi, who also registered two goals and four assists to lead the team in points, Spencer Maxwell, who also finished with one goal and two assists, and Ryan Iacoviello, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Lexington Wheels included Will Stevens and Mark Maclean, who each put in one. In addition, Lexington Wheels received assists from Pino Sorrenti, who had one.

Eamonn Mackenzie rejected 36 shots on goal for Deep Cove Jets. Deep Cove Jets incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jamie Pinton made 25 saves for Lexington Wheels on 36 shots. Lexington Wheels incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
