Conti nets hat trick, leads Panthers to 11-4 win over Dirty BirdsKaren Magnussen Arena Fri, Jul 24, 2015 Dirty Birds could not stop Panthers' Anthony Conti, who tallied a hat trick in an 11-4 win. Conti got on the scoresheet 1:50 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:02 into the first and at 16:53 into the second.The win gave Panthers a 1-0 lead in the best of one series. Dirty Birds' power play was ineffective against Panthers' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Panthers' offense rang up 50 shots on Dirty Birds' net. Panthers additionally got points from Ryan Killeen, who also registered one goal and three assists, Dyllan Quon, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Quinton Blois, who also grabbed three goals and two assists, and Matt Lucero, who also had one goal and one assist. Panthers also got a goal from Joel Issigonis as well. In addition, Panthers received assists from Sterling Hansell, who had one and Quinten Issigonis, who had five. Panthers was unable to stop Dirty Birds from sending pucks towards the net, and Dirty Birds eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Dirty Birds was helped by Cole Byrd, who finished with one goal. Byrd scored 7:45 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Gavin Dunster provided the assist. Dirty Birds also got points from Samuel Dickison, who also registered one goal and one assist. Liam Phillips also scored for Dirty Birds. More assists for Dirty Birds came via Robert Mclachlan, who had two and Taylor Burns, Sean Brown, and Devlin Mcbride, who each chipped in one. Panthers' Jonny Donohoe stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Panthers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Robert Mclachlan made 39 saves for Dirty Birds on 50 shots. Dirty Birds incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
