Johnny Choy lifted Team SP to an 8-4 victory with a hat trick against East Vancouver.

Choy got on the scoresheet 17:39 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:49 into the second and at 15:08 into the second.

The win gave Team SP a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Team SP additionally got points from Allan Chow, who also had one goal and one assist, Ryan Wong, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Daniel Chieu, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Team SP included David Tam and Emmanuel LEsperance, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Team SP were John Nguyenn, who had one and Kevin Nukina and Adrian Leung, who each chipped in two.

East Vancouver forced Team SP goalie Boris Lau to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

East Vancouver was led by Vik Saggu, who had three goals. East Vancouver also got a goal from Patrick John as well. More assists for East Vancouver came via Jonathan Randazzo, who had two and Amrit Jhutti, Arvinder Benga, Jake Johnson, Vimal Bodalia, and Tony Bao, who contributed one each.

Boris Lau made 28 saves for Team SP on 32 shots. Team SP incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Andrew Guolo rejected 22 shots on goal for East Vancouver. East Vancouver incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
