Team SP wins tough contest against East Vancouver, 4-3

Team SP and East Vancouver were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Team SP made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

Team SP gained the winning advantage on a goal by Adrian Leung 19:36 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

The win gave Team SP a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Team SP was paced by Leung, who racked up one goal.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Team SP additionally got points from Emmanuel LEsperance, who also registered one goal and one assist and Daniel Chieu, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Team SP also got a goal from Alwin Tsui as well. Other players who recorded assists for Team SP were David Tam, who had two and Kevin Nukina, Ryan Wong, and John Nguyenn, who contributed one each.

East Vancouver put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Team SP to score on any of its three power plays.

East Vancouver was helped by Jonathan Randazzo, who tallied one goal. Randazzo scored 17:56 into the first period to make the score 2-1 East Vancouver. Vik Saggu picked up the assist. East Vancouver also got points from Saggu, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Patrick John also scored for East Vancouver. More assists for East Vancouver came via Amrit Jhutti, Jake Johnson, and Vimal Bodalia, who each chipped in one.

Boris Lau recorded 18 saves for Team SP. Team SP incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. East Vancouver's Andrew Guolo stopped 24 shots out of the 28 that he faced. East Vancouver incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
