David Cowling had two goals and one assist to lead Devils to a 7-3 victory over SSSK.

Cowling scored at 16:37 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Devils and again while 41 seconds into the second to make the score 4-2 Devils.

The win gave Devils a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Devils additionally got points from Rajin Khera, who also registered one goal and one assist and Bic Banwait, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Devils also had goals scored by Sartaj Chhoker, Kyle Izatt, and Ryan Clarke, who scored one goal each. More assists for Devils came via Shawn Landry and Sean Simms, who each chipped in one and Kevin Fenwick and Andrei Bus, who contributed two each.

SSSK's offense rang up 35 shots on Devils' net. The defensemen of SSSK were also effective in Devils' zone, and came away with two goals.

SSSK was led by Jordan Lee, who tallied one goal and one assist. Lee scored 13:49 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Devils. Graham Fitzpatrick provided the assist. Others who scored for SSSK included Travis Chastkavich and Kevin Langdale, who each put in one. In addition, SSSK received assists from Matt Lee and Jonathan Freeston, who each chipped in one.

Devils' Inderpal Bhachu stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Devils incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Lukas Kowalyk made 23 saves for SSSK on 30 shots. SSSK incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
