Road Warriors beats Super Saiyans 6-4 as Gibbs gets hat trick

Super Saiyans could not stop Road Warriors' Nathan Gibbs, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-4 win.

Gibbs notched his first tally 9:50 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:21 into the first and at 2:10 into the second.

The win gave Road Warriors a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Road Warriors also got points from Linus Lu, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Brent Magee, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Aleem Peermohamed also scored for Road Warriors. Other players who recorded assists for Road Warriors were Scott Howard, who had three and John Chieng and fahim Kanji, who each chipped in one.

Road Warriors was unable to stop Super Saiyans from sending pucks towards the net, and Super Saiyans eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Super Saiyans was led by Jonathan Freeston, who registered one goal and two assists. Freeston scored 4:41 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Road Warriors. Stephen Sim picked up the assist. Super Saiyans additionally got points from Alvin Oh, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Kevin Deacon, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Super Saiyans also got a goal from Kevin Sim as well. In addition, Super Saiyans received assists from Alan Vuong and Wes Liu, who contributed one each.

Hoi Leung made 33 saves for Road Warriors on 37 shots. Road Warriors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Super Saiyans' Lewis Chan stopped 20 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Super Saiyans incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
