Super Saiyans relied on the scoring touch of Alan Vuong, who netted two goals, to beat SGO Hockey Club, 7-4.

Vuong found the back of the net 13:14 into the first period to make the score 2-2 and again while 3:00 into the second to make the score 4-2 Super Saiyans.

The win gave Super Saiyans a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Super Saiyans kept SGO Hockey Club's goalie busy throughout the game, and Hoi Leung made 29 saves on 36 shots. Super Saiyans did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Super Saiyans additionally got points from Stephen Sim, who also had one goal and one assist, Kevin Deacon, who also registered one goal and two assists, Will Tran, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Wes Liu, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Super Saiyans also got a goal from Eric Siu as well. More assists for Super Saiyans came via Jason Leong, who had three and Nelson Ma and Kevin Sim, who contributed one each.

SGO Hockey Club did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering only one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The defensemen of SGO Hockey Club were also effective in Super Saiyans' zone, and came away with four goals.

SGO Hockey Club was led by Edwin Leung, who had three goals. Evan Yang also scored for SGO Hockey Club. In addition, SGO Hockey Club received assists from John Wong and Colman Tam, who each chipped in two.

Super Saiyans' Lewis Chan stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Super Saiyans registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. SGO Hockey Club registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
