Sharpshooters downs Burnaby Seamen in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Derek Kwan gave Sharpshooters a 4-3 (OT) victory over Burnaby Seamen when he scored 2:05 into the extra period.

The win gave Sharpshooters a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Kwan had two goals and one assist to lead Sharpshooters. Kwan scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:41 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Sharpshooters had taken the advantage when Burnaby Seamen's David Lim got sent off for tripping. Amir Khaledi assisted on the tally. Kwan's next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 Sharpshooters with 17:55 left in the third period. Jordan Ramos provided the assist.

Sharpshooters' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Sharpshooters additionally got points from Vinay Sharma, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Khaledi, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Sharpshooters received assists from Paul Murphy, who had one.

Burnaby Seamen was led by Jordan Lee, who finished with two goals and one assist. Lee scored the first of his two goals at 2:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Burnaby Seamen. Ted Chang picked up the assist. Lee's next tally made the score 3-2 Burnaby Seamen with 3:08 left in the second period. Burnaby Seamen had gained a power play chance when Khaledi was whistled for hooking. Chang assisted on the tally. Burnaby Seamen also got a goal from Danny Chieh Yao Cheng as well.

Lance Nguyen made 23 saves for Sharpshooters on 26 shots. Sharpshooters incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Lukas Kowalyk recorded 18 saves for Burnaby Seamen. Burnaby Seamen incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
