Simon Shyng had two goals and one assist to lead Lougheed to a 6-2 victory over EVU (East Van United).

Shyng scored at 3:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lougheed and again while on the power play 10:55 into the second to make the score 6-1 Lougheed.

The win gave Lougheed a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Lougheed's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three EVU (East Van United) power plays. Lougheed forced EVU (East Van United) goalie Will Waller to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Lougheed also got points from Jay Trinca, who also had one goal and two assists, Michael Sakuraba, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Michael Ramos, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Gary Chui also scored for Lougheed. More assists for Lougheed came via Matt Wong, who had two and Mike Vuong, Marcus Schalle, Francis Gachallan, and Brian Keslering, who contributed one each.

EVU (East Van United)'s offense rang up 33 shots on Lougheed's net. The defensemen of EVU (East Van United) were also effective in Lougheed's zone, and came away with two goals.

Enzo Pesce recorded 31 saves for Lougheed. Lougheed incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Will Waller made 26 saves for EVU (East Van United) on 32 shots. EVU (East Van United) incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
