Phillip Chou lifted NWO-Wolfpac to a 4-3 victory with a hat trick against HoodStar.

Chou's first goal came 10:59 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:17 into the second and at 11:35 into the second.

The win gave NWO-Wolfpac a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

Austin Parkhurst also scored for NWO-Wolfpac. More assists for NWO-Wolfpac came via Anthony Tsumura, Jason Jang, and Andrew Wong, who contributed one each.

The defensemen of HoodStar were also effective in NWO-Wolfpac's zone, and came away with two goals.

HoodStar was led by Emmanuel LEsperance, who had one goal and one assist. LEsperance scored 17:15 into the second period to make the score 4-3 NWO-Wolfpac. Daniel Chieu picked up the assist. HoodStar also had goals scored by Marty Gannon and Tony Bao, who each put in one. In addition, HoodStar received assists from Hector Houle, who had one.

Victor Kam recorded 19 saves for NWO-Wolfpac. NWO-Wolfpac incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. HoodStar's Daniel Ngan stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced. HoodStar incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
