Team Brick Alberta holds on for 3-1 win against Winnipeg Junior Jets

Winnipeg Junior Jets tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Team Brick Alberta would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1.

Team Brick Alberta took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have Winnipeg Junior Jets storm back on a Brandon Funk goal 13:36 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

 

Team Brick Alberta was led by Kenny Lundgren, who registered one goal. Lundgren scored 8:43 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Team Brick Alberta. Aiden Oiring provided the assist.

Team Brick Alberta's offense rang up 31 shots on Winnipeg Junior Jets' net.

Others who scored for Team Brick Alberta included Tom Willander and Nicholas Johnson, who each put in one. In addition, Team Brick Alberta received assists from Carter Yakemchuk, Caleb Leptire, Darren Beaver, and Colin Doherty, who contributed one each.

Winnipeg Junior Jets did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 10 shots on net to force nine saves.

Other players who recorded assists for Winnipeg Junior Jets were Hayden Wheddon and Merik Boles, who each chipped in one.

Alexander Scheiwiller recorded nine saves for Team Brick Alberta. Team Brick Alberta finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-2 with the man advantage. Colin Wiebe made 28 saves for Winnipeg Junior Jets on 31 shots. Winnipeg Junior Jets incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
