The Other Guys downs Punishers in overtime, 6-5 (OT)

The Other Guys pulled out a 6-5 (OT) overtime victory over Punishers on a clutch goal by Graeme Good.

The win gave The Other Guys a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

The Other Guys overcame a four-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Other Guys fell behind 5-1 after a goal by Punishers' Nick Rodway at 5:33 in the second period. The Other Guys tied things up at 5-5 on a goal by Good at 16:32 in the second period.

With four goals and two assists between them, Good and Tomas Meredith teamed up to power The Other Guys' offense. Good registered two goals and one assist and Meredith also notched two goals and one assist.

Punishers was unable to stop The Other Guys from sending pucks towards the net, and The Other Guys eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

The Other Guys also got points from Jonathan Plunet, who also had one goal and two assists, Meredith, who also finished with two goals and one assist to lead the team in points, and Max Meredith, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for The Other Guys were Stjepan Rogina and Parham Kamkar, who each chipped in one.

Punishers forced The Other Guys goalie Ted Urbanek to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Team could not crack The Other Guys' penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage. The defensemen of Punishers were also effective in The Other Guys' zone, and came away with two goals.

Punishers was led by Jeff Huang, who racked up two goals and two assists. Huang scored the first of his two goals at 7:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Punishers. Brendan Richards assisted on the tally. Huang's next tally made the score 3-1 Punishers with 1:45 left in the first period. Sean Kingsley provided the assist. Punishers additionally got points from Richards, who also registered one goal and two assists, Rodway, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Roy Shen, who also had one goal and one assist.

Ted Urbanek made 26 saves for The Other Guys on 31 shots. The Other Guys incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Lee Carron rejected 33 shots on goal for Punishers. Punishers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
