Punishers' Derick Bogar had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 8-3 win over East Side Tigers.

Bogar scored at 16:04 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Punishers and again while on the power play 12:21 into the second to make the score 4-2 Punishers.

The win gave Punishers a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

The defensemen of Punishers were also effective in East Side Tigers' zone, and came away with five goals.

Punishers also got points from Jeff Huang, who also tallied two goals and two assists. Punishers also had goals scored by Phal Um, who had two and Nick Rodway and Tony Xu, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Punishers were Kelvin Kuan, who had two and Tam Do and Roy Shen, who contributed one each.

East Side Tigers was led by Melvin Nand, who had two goals and one assist. Nand scored the first of his two goals at 13:21 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Justin Johal provided the assist. Nand's next tally made the score 3-2 Punishers with 13:46 left in the second period. East Side Tigers also got a goal from Sam Prakash as well. More assists for East Side Tigers came via Tim Villar, who had one.

Lee Carron recorded 22 saves for Punishers. Punishers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Chris Malkin made 13 saves for East Side Tigers on 20 shots. East Side Tigers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
