Chopsticks falls to Smiling Penguins after surprising comebackTrout Lake Rink 1 Mon, Jul 20, 2015 Undaunted by a four-goal deficit, Smiling Penguins battled back to claim a 6-5 victory over Chopsticks. Smiling Penguins never led in the game until netting the game winner. Smiling Penguins trailed 5-1 after a goal by Chopsticks' Tony Trinh at 18:41 in the first period. Smiling Penguins tied things up at 5-5 on a goal by Babak Filsoof at 13:38 in the second period. Smiling Penguins netted the game winner at 17:43 in the second period on a goal by Filsoof. The win gave Smiling Penguins a 1-0 lead in the best of one series. Smiling Penguins got the win behind a great game by Chung Wai Tam, who had two goals and three assists. Tam scored the first of his two goals at 19:40 into the first period to make the score 5-3 Chopsticks. Kristoffer Fransson picked up the assist. Tam's next tally made the score 6-5 Smiling Penguins with 2:17 left in the second period. Fransson provided the assist. Smiling Penguins' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Chopsticks power plays. Smiling Penguins additionally got points from Fransson, who also racked up one goal and three assists. Other players who recorded assists for Smiling Penguins were Sanjay Mahindru, who had three and Ken Cheung and David Sebela, who each chipped in one. Chopsticks was helped by Edward Lin, who tallied one goal and two assists. Lin scored 9:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Chopsticks. Victor Le picked up the assist. Chopsticks also got points from Le, who also had one goal and two assists and Trinh, who also registered one goal and one assist. Chopsticks also had goals scored by andy Tran and Paul Wong, who scored one goal each. In addition, Chopsticks received assists from Kevin Tran, who had one and Thanh Ho, who had three.
