Slick Hands and East Van Jets were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Slick Hands made the most of its opportunities and won, 6-5.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Hussein Nathani secured the win for Slick Hands with a goal in the second period.

The win gave Slick Hands a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Trevor Tan and Isaac Chong provided the spark for Slick Hands, combining for three goals and three assists. Tan had two goals and one assist and Chong also notched one goal and two assists.

Slick Hands did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with just one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Slick Hands' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Slick Hands also got points from Aaron Yip, who also registered one goal and two assists and Chong, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Slick Hands also got a goal from John Yeo as well. More assists for Slick Hands came via Paul Chong, Kevin Cho, and Andy Chang, who contributed one each.

East Van Jets put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Slick Hands to score on any of its three power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

East Van Jets was helped by Jeremiah Schneider, who registered two goals. Schneider scored the first of his two goals at 11:08 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Slick Hands. Schneider's next tally made the score 5-4 Slick Hands with 7:01 left in the second period. East Van Jets additionally got points from Vince Angeles, who also had one goal and two assists. Others who scored for East Van Jets included Lester Leonor and Johnny Wu, who scored one goal each. In addition, East Van Jets received assists from Sagar Lal and Joon Oh, who each chipped in one.

Sam Chin recorded 14 saves for Slick Hands. Rashil Singh rejected 21 shots on goal for East Van Jets. East Van Jets incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
