Rebel Legion's comeback falls short, Koopa 2 wins 5-4

Koopa two, which led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Rebel Legion and clinched a 5-4 victory.

Koopa two led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Koopa two's Peter Wong scored at 9:53 in the second period to put Koopa two up 5-2.

The win gave Koopa two a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Gordon Tan and Wong provided the spark for Koopa two, combining for three goals and three assists. Tan tallied two goals and one assist and Wong also notched one goal and two assists.

Koopa two forced Rebel Legion goalie Ryan Baynton to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

Koopa two additionally got points from Wong, who also registered one goal and two assists and Andrew Arciaga, who also had one goal and one assist. John Hoang also scored for Koopa two. More assists for Koopa two came via Tommy La, who had one.

Koopa two was unable to stop Rebel Legion from sending pucks towards the net, and Rebel Legion eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Rebel Legion was led by Jordan Gahan, who racked up two goals and one assist. Gahan scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 17:57 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Koopa two. Rebel Legion had gotten the advantage when Koopa two's Alex Ko was sent off for roughing. Jared Edmonds picked up the assist. Gahan's next tally on the power play made the score 5-4 Koopa two with 17 seconds left in the second period. Patrick Conlan assisted on the tally. Rebel Legion also got points from Conlan, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Edmonds, who also registered one goal and one assist.

Hoi Leung rejected 29 shots on goal for Koopa two. Koopa two incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors and had no power play opportunities. Ryan Baynton made 28 saves for Rebel Legion on 33 shots. Rebel Legion incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
