Zirpolo's hat trick boosts Turtles over Panthers, 8-6

Kiff Zirpolo netted a hat trick to lead Turtles over Panthers, 8-6.

Zirpolo got on the scoresheet 12:59 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:08 into the second and at 16:10 into the second.

Turtles forced Panthers goalie Jonny Donohoe to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Turtles also got points from Gabe Bielawski, who also registered one goal and two assists, Grant Harvey, who also had one goal and one assist, Scott Buchholz, who also racked up two goals and three assists to lead the team in points, and Ryan Sullivan, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Turtles came via Michael Thomey, who had one and Dustin Craighead, who had two.

Panthers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Panthers ended up below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. Turtles was unable to stop Panthers from sending pucks towards the net, and Panthers eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

Panthers was helped by Quinton Blois, who registered three goals and one assist. Panthers additionally got points from Anthony Conti, who also had one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Joel Issigonis, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Matt Lucero, who also tallied one goal and two assists. In addition, Panthers received assists from Corey Webster, who had one.

Perry Chow made 27 saves for Turtles on 33 shots. Turtles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Panthers' Donohoe stopped 26 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Panthers registered two goals on four power play opportunities.
