Huge game by Brisebois boosts Voodoo over Lexington Wheels, 10-5

Ryan Brisebois had six goals and two assists to lead Voodoo to a 10-5 victory over Lexington Wheels.

Brisebois got on the scoresheet 1:24 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:00 into the first, at 46 seconds into the second, at 4:58 into the second, at 12:43 into the second, and at 16:47 into the second.

Lexington Wheels' 10 penalties came back to haunt it, as Lexington Wheels let up five goals while on the penalty kill.

Voodoo kept Lexington Wheels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jamie Pinton made 31 saves on 41 shots. Voodoo bested its season scoring average. Voodoo averages 7.9 goals per game. Voodoo's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Voodoo also got points from Colin Lau, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Irvin Kwong, who also had one goal and one assist, Alex Pynn, who also racked up one goal and four assists, and Danny Banting, who also registered one goal and four assists. Other players who recorded assists for Voodoo were Jordan Davies, who had one.

Lexington Wheels racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and two majors for 56 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 14.0 minutes per game Lexington Wheels had been spending in the box. Lexington Wheels could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Lexington Wheels puts an average of 7.2 pucks into the net per game. Lexington Wheels' offense was handcuffed by Voodoo's defensive play, and Lexington Wheels managed only 13 shots on goal during the game. Lexington Wheels got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Lexington Wheels was led by Ryan Iacoviello, who tallied one goal and two assists. Iacoviello scored 2:32 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Voodoo. Lexington Wheels additionally got points from Joe Hewlett, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Lexington Wheels included Spencer Maxwell, Will Stevens, and Pino Sorrenti, who scored one goal each. In addition, Lexington Wheels received assists from Mike Radvak, who had one.

Ibu Sharif recorded eight saves for Voodoo. Voodoo ended with 29 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. For Voodoo, Banting was ejected from the game. Lexington Wheels registered one goal on one power play opportunities. For Lexington Wheels, Maxwell and Stevens were ejected from the contest.
