Boston Junior Bruins beats Team Brick Alberta 5-1 as Leonard gets hat trick

Team Brick Alberta could not stop Boston Junior Bruins' Ryan Leonard, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-1 win.

Leonard notched his first tally 8:32 into the first period. He then added goals at 11:25 into the first and at 5:44 into the second.

Boston Junior Bruins pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

Boston Junior Bruins also got points from Ryan Shaw, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Joe Connor also scored for Boston Junior Bruins. More assists for Boston Junior Bruins came via Chase Mckenna, Will Mcdonough, Michael Calabrese, and Jack OBrien, who each chipped in one.

Team Brick Alberta was held back by its power play unit, which tallied one goal on nine chances.

Team Brick Alberta was led by Nicholas Johnson, who scored the team's only goal. Johnson scored on the power play 9:10 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Boston Junior Bruins. A tripping penalty on Calabrese had put Team Brick Alberta on the power play. Gracyn Sawchyn picked up the assist.

Jason Delehoy rejected 24 shots on goal for Boston Junior Bruins. Boston Junior Bruins registered two goals on four power play opportunities. Cooper Michaluk recorded 12 saves for Team Brick Alberta. Team Brick Alberta incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
